Job Title: IT System Administrator
Location: Lagos
Job Objective
- IT system administrator is responsible for system performance, design, and reliability and the security and optimization of computer systems.

Responsibilities
- Installing, configuring, and maintaining computer systems, servers, networks, and associated hardware and software.
- Managing and monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring system availability and reliability.
- Performing regular system backups and data recovery operations to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
- Administering user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure proper security and data protection.
- Managing and maintaining Active Directory services, including user authentication, group policies, and domain administration.
- Monitoring and managing network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
- Collaborating with other IT teams and departments to support and troubleshoot system-related issues.
- Identifying and implementing system improvements, upgrades, and patches to enhance performance and security.
- Evaluating and recommending hardware and software solutions to meet business needs and system requirements.
- Maintaining system documentation, including configuration details, procedures, and policies.
- Conducting system audits and security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Assisting in planning and executing disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
- Managing and maintaining software licensing and ensuring compliance with license agreements.
- Providing technical support and assistance to end-users, troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Tier 3 support
- Staying up-to-date with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in systems administration
- Designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based systems and infrastructure.
- Managing and monitoring cloud-based services, such as virtual machines, databases, and storage.
- Configuring and maintaining cloud security measures, including firewalls, access controls, and encryption
Requirements
- Proficiency in operating systems like Windows Server, Linux, or Unix.
- Knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Familiarity with network protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing.
- Experience with administering and managing Active Directory and group policies.
- Understanding of cloud computing concepts and experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages like PowerShell or Python.
